December 22nd is just around the corner!

Time for an update on Pining for You (PfY). It's been a busy few weeks for me with events for my cat rescue and the semester coming to an end, which meant no time for writing blog posts. But there is much happening behind the scenes for PfY and December 22nd is almost here! More on that date later. I have gotten back the manuscript from my editor with minimal edits. The pitch and synopsis have been written, and she loved the addition of the villain! Yay! What does all this mean? It means we're going on submission with publishers VERY SOON.

Anyway, for this post, I would like to share more about Christmas and Jim Thorpe. As you can see, I went to the tree lighting ceremony this year. I look so happy in front of the tree, don't I? It's because I got an up-close view of Santa! I was with a librarian, who I've become friends with, and visit on Friday afternoons. She's a lot of fun and an amazing person. One of the things that is apparent in my book, is how Jim Thorpe has a great community vibe. Everywhere I've gone in the town, I've felt welcome. I'm, of course, partial to the library because of being a writer, but there are other spots that have been welcoming too.

In PfY, the main character, Nicole, spends quite a bit of time exploring the town of Jim Thorpe. She makes friends with a conductor of the train, a bartender at her favorite food and beer joint, the Christmas shop owner, and, of course, her psychic reader, who reinforced her faith in her HEA. For Nicole, as it is for me, Jim Thorpe is a place that feels like home. There's really no other way to describe it. Among the landscape, the quaintness of the streets and old buildings, and the people that live and work there, there's nothing that compares. I've often heard people talk about places that feel like home but never experienced it myself until I spent time in Jim Thorpe. I still have lots of exploring to do, especially with the trails in the surrounding area, but I'll get to that when it gets warmer.

As for as December 22nd is concerned, that is the fictional date of Nicole's book launch in PfU. The MC, Nicole, plans her book launch at the library in the hopes that Everett, her love interest, shows up. I won't spoil it, but things don't go as planned, obviously. But something big does happen that changes EVERYTHING. I know, plot twist! I'm not going to reveal anything, but I will say that Nicole gets her HEA, just not the way she thought she would. I plan on stopping by the fateful spot, in the afternoon on the 22nd, where everything comes together, because HOW COULD I NOT?

Until next time, happy holidays!
